Sail Date: Aug 2016

We sailed Epic August 10-17, 2016 and this was our second cruise. Choose NCL because of flexible dining and beverage package. Liked the idea of not having to carry our luggage from city to city in Europe - with a cruise you can get off at the port and see the sites. Choose NCL because it had great ports of call. Good ship but showing some age. Met really great fellow passengers. Staff was very attentive. Room 12241 was a large balcony. It was good, small, clean but worn. Meals at Taste and pub were very good. Beverage package was well worth it. Shows were average except Burn the Floor was excellent. Embark/disembark were smooth. We choose not to sign up for shore excursions with NCL because of the price and choose a private tour company instead. After passengers embarked in Barcelona the ship was very crowded. Tips: Avoid school holidays - too many strollers! Seek quiet area Deck 18 at the front of the ship it you want some peace and relaxation.
