First time on Princess. Went because they can go in Glacier Bay National Park. Overall the cruise portion was very nice. The food in the buffet was horrible and we avoided it. The food in the main dining room was better but it was the staff that really had us returning. We also met some really nice guys from the photography department that surprisingly for me made having pictures taking fun. The views while cruising were incredible. It was the ports that were very disappointing. Did not expect them to be as commercialized as the ports in the Caribbean. Who needs Diamonds International in ports in Alaska. Not why people cruise Alaska. Would have liked to see more authentic Alaska. Will need to go back and rent a car or an RV and do some exploring of Alaska on our own. The comedian onboard had us laughing non-stop. Some of the excursions were fun but just not the experience we had built up in our minds. Think it is a destination you have to return to in order to enjoy everything.

Anchorage

Did not have much time as had to catch the shuttle to the ship but walked around. Seems like a nice city to spend some time in on another trip.
