My wife, 20 year old son, and I sailed on Carnival Pride on 07-14 August, 2016. We stayed in ocean suite #6185. Loved the ship (décor is outdated), the crew was great, things to do on board were plentiful, dining experience was wonderful, but we were disappointed with one of the ports of call. We would do it again. This time we would do some of the activities that we could not get to this last cruise.
The ocean suite was the wise choice for us. It was located on deck six, mid ship. There was plenty of room for each of us to claim a small area as "our personal space". We also each had our own closet and dresser drawers. My son and I spent a lot of time on the large balcony. Every morning, evening, during dockings, and while waiting for my wife to get ready. My wife and son even took some down time snoozing on the balcony.
We chose dine at your time option. We did not have the same wait staff each evening, but we did enjoy sitting in various locations in the dining room. A bonus was that we did get to meet several of the wait staff on several occasions, and they remembered us. Food was wonderful. The mixing of flavors in the foods were a delight. Try the strawberry, mango, and peach cold soups.
Lots of room for three. The room is rated for four, with the fourth bed dropping down above the sofa bed. With three in the room we had plenty of personal space. We didn't come close to using all the available storage space. My wife loved the vanity area (now she wants one at home). The large balcony was great. Three chairs, one recliner, and two tables and there was still lots of space to get around each other. The only down points were the jet tub and the privacy door to the vanity. The jet tub had a louver missing (sprayed water everywhere), and the door to the vanity area was screwed open for some reason. Bed was comfortable, plenty of lighting, lots of storage, small fridge, safe, and the large balcony.
The cruise terminal is basic at best. I have seen terminals like this in some third world airports. Large warehouse with metal chairs. The lounge for people boarding first was just a large room with four rows of metal chairs. We did get to watch the people who had just disembarked, cleared customs, and claimed their luggage. More entertaining than the other room.
