This was our 4th cruise together and my 5th cruise total. All of our other cruises together had been with Princess. We prefer not to fly and this was one of our only options. I had cruised on the Norway 12 years ago and had a wonderful experience so I was not nervous about cruising with NCL. Boy was I wrong!

Embarkation: We arrived at the terminal in Manhattan around 1:00 as was suggested in our paperwork. We made it through the terminal in about 30 minutes with no problems. That was the last positive experience we had. We then had to stand in the stairwell for an hour and a half because our cabin was not ready yet (unheard of on Princess). We finally dropped our carry-on bags in the cabin and met our cabin steward. We never heard from him again.

Cabin: Thank goodness we decided at the last minute on Friday to upgrade from an inside cabin to a balcony! Our cabin was very small with just enough room to shimmy past the end of the bed. We caught a peek into an inside cabin and it looked as if two adults would hurt each other in there! The closet was smaller than we are used to on Princess and the bed was very uncomfortable. We both woke up with back aches everyday. We couldn't even see if there was anything in the mini-bar that we may have wanted because it was locked all week. The bathroom was nice. I liked the glass door on the shower instead of a curtain.

Nice balcony, smallish closet, hallway somewhat noisy.
