Sail Date: May 2016
Cabin: Penthouse with Large Balcony

Departure City: Vancouver. There is so much to see and do. After booking this cruise, we took a separate vacation months before to explore Vancouver. If you have a few extra days, be sure to visit Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Grouse Mountain, and Stanley Park.

Embarkation: This did not go smoothly. First cruise of the season and we waited hours to board the ship. After we were finally checked in, our boarding cards didn't scan correctly and we had to wait in another line at Guest Services to be issued new cards. Totally unacceptable boarding procedure by NCL and Customs.

Ship: The Pearl was nice enough but the Crystal Atrium was always full (difficult to find seating) and lines to "free" restaurants were always long.

Cabin Review

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SE

Disappointed with this cabin. Located across from supply closet for room stewards; lots of chatter. Room layout had vanity, closet, drawers right outside of bathroom. Small hallway and it seemed we were always in each other's way getting dressed. But the biggest disappointment was the balcony. The overhang from Deck 11 reached half way across our balcony. Constant dripping from Alaska air condensation kept our chair cushions wet. One day, our balcony was full of ashes from smoke stack. Deck 9 aft would have been a better choice because Deck 10 overhang full covers balcony below.
