After an awesome Med cruise with Celebrity in 2015, I tried HAL in 2016 and was bitterly disappointed. Service was nowhere near as good. Room attendants weren't available most mornings and when left 4 messages over 4 days at their number they later said "sorry we were busy". The buffet is NOT a buffet, it is a cafeteria and you have to wait for someone to serve you, making it difficult to try a little of this and a little of that. And it wasn't open most of the afternoon, and neither was the ice cream/desert area, when everyone returned from shore excursions - a very poor design. The spa area was filled with people having wild sex in all 3 of the saunas at 3pm in the afternoon - HAL did not have attendants to check on things, just assumed everything was fine. We left disgusted and it took 2 days before they agreed to refund our spa membership - very poor management. Main dining room service was poor, especially the wine steward Tony who didn't come to take our wine order until we were eating desert. Specialty restaurant Tamarind was awesome with great food and service - the only bright spot on the cruise. Specialty restaurant Pinnacle is a joke - servers stand around and look pretty but only 1 of them works, and the food was no better than that served in the Main Dining Room. Steaks (Medium) were dry and without flavor - I've had better steaks at Longhorn! Our shore beach towels were delivered to our room AFTER we had left for our shore trip. Pool areas are smaller than Celebrity, with too many reserved cabanas so there are not enough lounge chairs for regular guests, especially on days at sea. Morning room service had something missing every day; coffee is delivered lukewarm, and without cream; and requests for cream were never answered - subsequent days we ordered milk separately.
