Visiting Bermuda is the highlight of your vacation. While the Norwegian Dawn itself had plenty of activities and entertainment, variety of eating preferences, and friendly staff, it lacked consistency in enforcing rules set by the ship, providing accurate information especially for first time cruisers, and air quality especially in the casino area.

For first time cruisers - make early reservations for specialty dining, because space in these restaurants are very limited. If you want food that is quick, buffet style, and not always hot and tasty, visit the Garden Café. Also, depending on your drink preferences, the moderate drinker can expect to pay about $10 for a mix drink, if you didn’t purchase the alcohol package. Be aware that if you think about buying bottles of alcohol or wine, you will not be able to bring this back to your cabin until the last night of the cruise according to the ship’s rules.

While this rule is enforced, others are not. Although the Dawn claimed to have a pool for adults only, they allowed children it. Even the 4 hot tubs that surrounded the adult pool required participants to be at least 16, I saw small children with floaters dipping in. Sunbathers and pool dippers should be aware of Norwegian’s frequent defecation incidents as shared by other passengers. During this cruise while docked in Bermuda, the ship’s adult pool was closed for 2 days. They are prohibited from releasing contaminated water and must wait until they are at least 100 miles away. In this particular incident, young, intoxicated adult males challenged another male. Intoxicated and boastful individuals were seen and heard frequently. Equally, unsupervised young children were seen running loosely around the pool area as well as in the bar lounges after 9 pm.

Cabin OA

We had a beautiful view of the ocean once we sailed. The room is designed for three, but I would not recommend as space is limited. There are 2 twin size beds with one bunk above one of the twins. The room is close to the elevators and located next to a crew door. Unfortunately, each night you can hear what sounded like a metal ball and chain being dragged. Most annoying was when others above you or around you slammed their door shut, you heard it with a slight shook at your door.
