We choose the cruise to Papua New Guinea for the itinerary. Five ports of call - two delivered. First port a security issue on land - passengers evacuated back to ship by lunch. Well managed by P & O. Second - after a three and a half hour wait to board tenders - cancelled due to the weather and the fact that they could not get half the passengers waiting to go to shore back on board prior to departure. - third at wharf - why did it take an hour to board passengers - left out in the heat and humidity - children, the elderly and passengers in wheelchairs.- fourth two and a half hours to board tender and another hour and a half to reboard to the trip to the boat. Fifth cancelled due to weather.

Embarking and disembarking passengers a major problem for Aria. No point blaming the design on Holland America. Having travelled with them - the issues experienced on this trip were not evident when managed by competent staff.

Waterfront Restaurant, Angelos and Dragon Lady - food and service adequate. Torquay (cafeteria) a disgrace. Poor seating and configuration - bench seating, coffee tables to eat a meal!! Reminded me of the poor railway Cafes that we used to experience. Food frenzy an experience. Be prepared to wait for every meal. Insufficient seating to cater for the 1500 passengers. Better to have extra bars for revenue raising.

Cabin Review

Cabin Window Cabin

Room was surprising large, comfortable and reasonably well appointed. Terrific cabin service. Only disadvantage was the shower is over a high bath. A major issue for passengers with mobility issued.
