Every day our lovely cabin steward had these wonderful towel animals...
an appetizer at Manhattan room - delicious

our family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids aged 10 and 9) chose NCL's Epic for our first cruise ever. The choice was between Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas and Norwegian Epic. Dates, price and cabin availability determined our choice and I can safely say the entire family had a lot of fun.

The cruise was almost in the middle of a 3 week trip around Europe and we had spent a few days in Rome prior to boarding which was a good option as we were relaxed and well rested when we boarded.

The embarkation process was stress free and took all of 5 minutes (no lines etc). Be aware that NCL operates a very strict "No external Beverage" which even extends to water bottles (will have to be emptied).

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M2

Comfortably sleeps 2 adults and 2 children (one bunk bed is stored in the ceiling). The separate toilet, shower and sink can take a bit of issue but the curtain gives you some element of privacy.

Lots of storage. Store your suitcases under the bed (lift bed if required)...we fit 3 large suitcase and 2 smaller ones comfortably.

We found the cabin location perfect as the kids club, elevators were steps away and the main restaurant (Garden Cafe), pools, water slides etc were on Deck 15 so never had to wait for an elevator

Port Reviews

Florence (Livorno)

We actually rented a car and went to Florence and Pisa...it is an easy drive and the rental cars companies (Hertz, Avis) are right where the cruise ship docks...very convenient. Take the GPS they offer as it is pre-programmed to the assigned parking garages (very important as parking can be a nuisance in Florence) so it is hassle free.

Cannes

You use the tenders which is very well organised
