We are a couple in our late 50's who wanted to taste our first ever cruise. The Carnival Spirit was the one recommended to us by friends. We had booked a balcony cabin 7239 mid-ship close to the lift. It was very quiet and yet we were very central to everything.
The ship itself had everything from basic food to fine dining. We dined at the Nouveau Restaurant the first night and received a complimentary bottle of wine. The food and service was excellent. We also had lunch there on the second last day of our cruise. You need to book early to dine there on the first night. We had also booked the "Chef's Table". That is not to be missed if you want to be spoiled with fine wine and dining. Only 15 places available. The Chief Chef from the Empire Restaurant takes you behind the scenes into the Galley where it all happens. You are then lead into another area where you will enjoy a seven course menu. Hats off to Ahjay, Bharat and the crew for a wonderful night. We ate most nights at the Empire Room. We often had breakfast in the Lido Room. It is very much hustle and bustle and a good meeting point for families and friends to catch up. The Lido caters for all tastes of food including late night pizzas. Kid free Serenity is a great place to relax and chill out soaking up the sun, in the pool or spa, or soaking up the music on offer.
You would have to be hard to please to say you didn't like any of the music on board.
Balcony cabin 7239 mid-ship close to the lift. It was very quiet and yet we were very central to everything. The cabin was very roomy for two people. Plenty of cupboard space. The furnishings were a little outdated. The bed itself was very comfy including soft pillows. The balcony was small. However, it had enough room for both of us to sit and have a coffee outside when entering a port. If you want a larger balcony, perhaps the extended balcony may be more suitable.
