Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Great ship and crew. The only major negative is that the ship is quite large which means that there are proportionally more clueless, rude and grumpy people to deal with. Sailing on one of the largest ships in the world out of one of the largest metropolitan areas requires a bit of preplanning and patience and deciding ahead of time if it's the ship for you.

Embarkation. Couldn't be smoother. Drove from the Philly area. Hoped to board around 11 so we left at 8. Arrived at the terminal by 10. Had to wait for two cars in front of me then drove up to the curb, gave luggage to porter and then drove next door to the parking garage.

Parking in the garage is easy. 20 bucks per day. Pulled right in and parked.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

I love the cabins on this ship. I find the beds comfy and the bathrooms well layed out. Balcony is a nice size and the furniture is really nice. The previous occupants managed to somehow leave about 5-pounds of sand (not exaggerating!) on the deck. It looked like a beach. No way to avoid tracking it back into the room. They also were kind enough to lock the safe while it was open which prevented us from using it it until a supervisor could reset it. Both these items took a day to get fully straightened out. Our cabin steward got the bulk of the sand up as soon as we let him know and the rest was washed down a day later. Supposedly, the customs issues was a factor that prevented the usual attention to detail on areas like the balcony. The room and bathroom were in good shape and it was nice to be able to touch down in the room at 1. The rooms/bathrooms have lots of storage space and are overall very comfortable. Climate controls worked well and we could effectively control the room temperature.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Good place to leave from. Nothing there to do otherwise. High rating because embarkation process and parking were convenient.
