2 x 7 day cruises, B2B, western med

Overall, a great cruise on a good ship visiting amazing destinations. We have done several cruises, including the Med, and sailed Celebrity before. On this occasion we did two cruises back to back, Rome to BCN and back to Rome. There was a clear difference between the two cruises. The first having a much younger, easy going, fun crowd and thus provided a much better atmosphere than the second cruise.

We stayed 1 night in Civitavecchia (Rome) at the lovely Hotel San Giorgio who also offered us a shuttle to the ship on embarkation day. On board we had the same cabin for both cruises, A hump stateroom with a huge long balcony, much bigger than others nearby! We spent a lot of time here day and night admiring the 180 degree views. Our room was also of a good size and kept neat and tidy by our room steward, but no towel animals! It was very convenient to the aft lifts. The ship itself is very nice, with a sleek modern look and lovely decor everywhere. We spent a lot of time in the indoor solarium as we found the outdoor pool area just too hot in the middle of summer. The casino seemed to have it’s own silly unique rules a little different to most ships. The shopping seemed expensive and many things lacked ticket prices.
