Cabin: Balcony

As soon as Carnival announced their new ship my family knew we would be on it and booked opening day. We had a wonderful vacation but the ship was a bit of a miss for us.

Ship Pros:

Crew - Hardworking and friendly as always!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

A typical balcony cabin for Carnival with a slight redesign. There is now less closet space which made it difficult for 4 people to be organized. The new shape of the desk area meant less walking room around the beds. We did love the new large-screen TV though and all of the things you could check on it.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We spent 6 nights pre-cruise in Barcelona. It is a wonderful city with many things for a family to do. We especially enjoyed Parc Guell and the Barri Gotic area.

Marseille

We walked from the ship to the local bus stop at the entrance to the port. We spent the day walking around the Vieux Port area where we shopped at an outdoor street market and had lunch. The local bus back to the port was disorganized and the drivers kept sending us to different sides of the street. They seemed to be in an argument about something and this kept delaying our departure.

Naples

Absolutely loved Naples! We walked to the local bus and went to Pompeii. We did a self-guided walking tour and had a great time exploring this ancient site. We took the bus back to Naples and made our way to a pizza place we had found online. It was fantastic.

Rhodes

We hit a heatwave and only spent about an hour at the beach before returning to spend time on the ship. This is definitely somewhere I want to return to though to explore.

Athens (Piraeus)

We took the local bus to the Acropolis. The walk up was brutal in the heat (104F!) so we did not really appreciate what we were seeing or doing. After walking down we did some shopping and then went back to the ship for lunch. I would have loved to see more of the city and sites but the heat was too much.
