What can I say? My wife and I have sailed with Royal Caribbean and this was the 1st Celebrity cruises we have gone on. We were worried that the Century was a little older and smaller of a ship than we are used to, but soon enough we found that the experience packed a punch. It's tiny, but mighty. Now, don't go thinking it's too small. It holds over 1700 passengers and is 12 decks high which is still nice size and we were impressed when we pulled up to the dock. Here are our findings:

Embarkation: WOW...what a breeze. Make sure you have your passport and photo I.D. in your shirt pocket when you come into the terminal. When you get to the counters, which didn't take long at all, you can change your credit card info and you get your keys pretty quick. The next thing you know...you are on your way to the gangway and onto the ship. With porters outside to snag your luggage, it takes about 20 minutes to get on the ship...very easy. Also, once on the ship, they had champaign for you to toast each other...nice touch!! We got on the ship at 12:30pm and our room was ready 30 minutes later. We enjoyed a "Welcome Aboard Lunch" on the 11th deck where the pool is and buffet line is. Also, they had burgers, hot dogs and fries, but we just did the buffet. I will get into that in a little bit. Also, once onboard, we were able to go meet with the Maitre'd and change our dining time to the later seating and was able to get a table for 2, which was a real blessing.

The Ship: Overall, the ship was very well done. You can tell there were upgrades all over and the wood looked great and the ship was immaculate, people cleaning here and there, but not in the way. It was pretty easy to get around and it took us about an evening to get our bearings, but pretty soon, we were all over the place. The pool looked clean and there were lots of deck chaises. I don't know what all these people were talking about "Lounges were hard to get". There were people getting up all of the time and we had no problem with it. The Atrium where the service desk was great since there were several people there to help.

Cabin Review

Lots of closet space, great curtain..blocks out light, large suitcases fit under the bed for space, pillows kind of flat, bedding a little hard but better than most ships, quiet, bathroom small, but very usable, 26" LCD that showed some stations and location information...you can even check your account daily on it.
