This is our second cruise on the Silver Shadow. My husband and I were on this same cruise 3 years ago and loved it. This year we came back with all the family (including grandparents.)

What a difference do 3 years make! On our first cruised we were very impressed by the personal attention, service, food etc.. That is why we decided to take the same cruise now with the whole family. First the ship looks old and worn out. It needs refurbishment and maintenance. One day we were dining at the Terrace and had to wait for 1 hour for our food because they had no electricity in the kitchen! The lights in the dining room kept blinking.

Service has suffered, I am not sure if they have less staff or the staff is not as well trained as before. Mainly in the dining rooms at night, it´s difficult to find your waiter or your sommelier. When you order the house wine they serve very little and never offer to refill unless you ask them. When you buy the wine at the restaurant they refill your glass all the time.. The appetizers size is very very small, just one bite and you are finished. Food has also suffered we did not find it as appealing as the last time, the same for the breakfast or lunch buffet.
