The Carnival Sunshine was a complete disappointment. My family and I are very friendly, fun, and easy going people but we unanimously agree that this was the worst cruise we have ever been on. There were 12 of us, ages ranging from 2-55, and this was our 6th cruise. Overall, this cruise experience had its ups and downs, it was not TERRIBLE but it was definitely not worth what we paid.
Embarkation: It went fairly quickly and smoothly. We took a Yankee Trails bus and we got right in to the building - not much of a wait. No complaints in terms of getting on the ship. However, the muster station drill was a DISASTER!! Completely unorganized, not enough room for guests to stand, it felt like 100 degrees. Overall, 3 people passed out. We had to stand there for at least an hour with no instruction. Everyone was flipping out. The ship was supposed to leave at 4pm and this did not end until about 5:30pm. Usually muster stations are not an issue, but this was awful.
Cabin: We had an interior cabin on the second floor, that was significantly smaller than interior cabins that we have had in the past. There was barely any room to store our clothes. Other than the size, no one had any complaints. The AC worked fine and the beds were very comfortable. Although, one of the rooms in our group was on the 3rd deck (do not get a room here!!!). They couldn't sleep until 2am every night because the night club directly above them was EXTREMELY loud. Also, it was right near the atrium, and every time there was a celebration in the atrium - you could hear it alllll night.
Super fun for 18+
