The Baltic Sea with its old cities is a must-have-seen for cruisers.
Amsterdam serves well as starting point, since it gives you extra days-at-sea at start and in the end. The Silhouette cruise offered 6 ports of call (plus Amsterdam) within 12 days - a good balance between touristic work and leisure.
Amsterdam's Passenger Terminal offered comfortable service. As it has only space for one ship of the 1,000 ft. class, everybody is concerned with your cruise when you embark or disembark. Another positive thing about Amsterdam: the Mövenpick Hotel right next to the Terminal, allowing you to walk from the lobby to embarkation (50 yards). And for those interested in Amsterdam with its outstanding museums and its unique net of "Grachten" (water canals): the city is only a 10 minutes walk away. - Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. If you drive your own car to Amsterdam, the hotel car parking (at discounted rate!) is right beneath the baggage claim area in the terminal building.
Cabin with standard floor size, but 50 % larger veranda. No obstructions of the view to portside and front, but restricted view to the aft.
Storage space: sufficient.
- wardrobe with 2 sliding doors (one is always closed!) and only a rod for hanging garments.
- hard-to-reach cabinet above the beds with 2 doors swinging to the ceiling, enough space for shirts, sweaters etc.
- and 3 drawers in the cabinet beneath the TV set (32", wall-mounted).
Bathroom with many small storage spaces, excellent shower cabin with sliding doors, shower head with massage function, and body shower jets.
