Sail Date: Jul 2016

After having a few summers where we didn't get much of a vacation, we decided to embark upon the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore again. This was our 4th cruise, but our 3rd cruise on the Carnival Pride. The main reason for this is sheer convenience - we live about 20 minutes from the port, so it makes things easy. No joke, we were home and unpacking before some people even disembarked.

Another reason we chose the Pride again was also simple - we like this ship. A lot.

I should probably note that the last two times we sailed this ship (2009 and 2010) were before the renovations, and although much is still the same, there were a number of neat changes, and I think they are all for the better.

Cabin Review

Cabin 4B - exterior balcony - obstructed view

Nothing much to say on the cabin because I don't cruise to stay in the cabin. The room was big enough, the shower had great pressure and was good and hot, the TV worked, the bed was comfortable, etc. About the only thing that would be missing is electrical outlets. There's only one, so if you have multiple devices bring a surge strip. In our case, one night we were charging multiple things so we unplugged the TV and used that outlet as a second outlet.

Otherwise, the cabin was fine.

Port Reviews

Freeport

Freeport is kind of "eh" in my opinion, and it pales next to Grand Turk and Half Moon Key - go shop for souvenirs at the shops right of the ship, and save a buck or two.

Grand Turk

Bring snorkeling gear, save a buck and enjoy the free beach on Grand Turk!

Half Moon Cay

Again, beautiful beach, drinks are easy to come by, and there's a free meal with lots of jerk chicken - what more do you need?

Baltimore

For this itinerary, if you are beach lovers like we are, you don't need to take official excursions - the beaches are beautiful, and food and drink is readily available.
