We chose to sail with Azamara as we wanted to cruise the Baltic area and were looking for a small ship. The Quest was the perfect size for us and we will definitely choose to sail with them again. The recent refurbishment means the ship looks beautiful. If you are looking for lavish Broadway style shows and 20 activities to choose from on days at sea this won't be the ship for you. It's also not a ship for families, but as we travelled as a couple this suited us just fine.

Embarkation was a breeze (but anything was likely to beat the 2+ hour queue we stood in to board the Celebrity Solstice). The ship was ready for boarding before 12 o'clock and we were welcomed on board with a glass of bubbly and directed to lunch in the Windows restaurant. Lunch was excellent variety and quality. Service was also friendly and efficient. This set the standard for the rest of the voyage. We loved the food in every restaurant. We treated ourselves to the speciality restaurants on 3 evenings (special rate for 3 visits) as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Prime C did an excellent chateaubriand but in our opinion the Aqualina just had the edge for the food, service and beautiful setting. However dinner was delicious in the Discoveries dining room with a varied menu every evening. I didn't feel we would have been deprived if we'd eaten there every evening. A lovely dining experience.

Some guests seemed to prefer the buffet restaurant on the top deck and we did eat there one night. Some buffets can feel like eating in a cafeteria and this was definitely not the ambiance in Windows. We prefer a more formal setting for dinner but the food quality and variety was consistently high everywhere on the ship.

Cabin Review

Club Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin 04

Clean, well appointed and nicely decorated. Very comfortable bed.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

Been here before and found it a bit grubby, but it's worth a visit if you've never visited before. Visited the Anne Frank museum It's easy to do it on your own but best to book it on the internet (quite a few weeks in advance) otherwise the queues are very long.

Helsinki

We did the hop on hop off bus to get an overview of the city.

Tallinn

Lovely old city. Compact enough to explore on your own. Guest relations always have information, maps etc available for every port. The information sheets delivered to the cabin don't have detailed enough maps if you're doing your own thing.

Stockholm

Loved Stockholm. We stayed an extra 2 nights and still didn't manage to see everything. We bought the Stockholm pass. If you have limited time try to get to the Vasa museum early as it gets very crowded (Stockholm pass meant we didn't have to join the queue). Loads of boat trips to choose from. Would recommend you do at least one of them.
