Traveling to China with Viking River Cruises was an excellent experience. We chose to begin our tour in shanghai and conclude it in Beijing. We typically plan our own trips, but felt that taking on a trip to China required more resources and so we booked with Viking River Tours. We were able to see sights on this tour that would have been very difficult to plan independently.

From start to finish each aspect of the journey was expertly planned and executed. Service was absolutely outstanding! Because of my work schedule, we went in July/August which is a very hot season in China - temperatures were over 37C or 95F on a daily basis and humidity is very high. In spite of that, our Viking Tour guide, Tom made sure that we were as comfortable as possible.

All accommodations were wonderful - the ship is not modern, but it is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The food on board was fabulous - there were a wonderful array of flavors on the buffet with meals being perfectly prepared. Food on the ship was some of the best that I have ever eaten. Read more
