We have been on only two ocean cruise (but 5 river cruises) and both on the Regatta. I imagine there are better ships out there (i.e. Regent level) that could be worth all 5 stars but for our tastes, the Regatta is just fine and would have no qualms about sailing on her again.
If necessary, some easy ways to save would be to make your own transfer, airfare, trip insurance and some excursion arrangements.
Our cruise was overbooked and we, along with many fellow passengers were offered generous compensation to reschedule.
We were on an Alaska cruise in a 7th deck concierge level veranda cabin but if we had to do it all over again we would choose an ocean view to save a few bucks since the weather was often too cool to use the veranda much. On our previous Caribbean Regatta cruise the veranda was very nice to have.
While compact, our room hand adequate storage and was always kept perfectly clean stocked plenty of towels etc. Quiet and convenient enough. Rooms located between the fore and aft elevators might have been a little more convenient.
Bed was very comfortable but the couch would have been easier to use for older folks if
higher.
It was nice to have access to hot, room service breakfasts and other Concierge level benefits.
Went to Chihuly museum and Space Needle in the morning while waiting to board. Very nice.
Nice, homey town that has few tourist areas yet but we really liked walking around to see a bit more realistic area. No jewelry stores in sight. Very informative local museum and gift shop.
