This was our 10th cruise so I am not new to cruising. We did one other Norwegian cruise, on the Gem from NY, and that was a little better.

The pro's on this cruise were leaving from Boston as we live in Massachusetts. Bermuda was amazing and had a great time while there. We did get a great on a last minute deal on the cruise ($499pp on inside room). The ship was renovated a month before our cruise. It was okay, nothing fancy but clean enough.

The con's. The dining rooms can not accommodate all the the passengers looking to dine there. We were told 2 nights that they were full for the night and then other nights had to go in as soon as they opened at 5:30 to get a table. The food was ok at best. The steak was never cooked to order. Always over done. There is only one pool on this ship and it is packed. Chairs are full of towels by 7am with no humans on them. Staff on the ship did not seem to be concerned with the saving of chairs. Not even a sign saying it wasn't permitted. They do not have any chairs along the sides of the ship either. If you wanted to relax on deck 7,8,9 you would have to stand and lean on a rail. There are no waiters walking around taking drink orders by the pool and hardly any in lounges and theatre. Had to go line up at a bar with many other people and wait and wait and wait. It wasn't worth it. Seems like the cruiseline is losing money on that idea. We had a flood in our room the first morning from the bathroom sink. Although it was repaired by noon time there was no apology or little credit offered in way of free drink or photo. Nothing. Our room attendant, Louie, was the best. Made sure to tip him extra as he went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Also Baby and SanJiv in the dining rooms were excellent. The only two we dealt with in there that went the extra mile. If you pay in cash, like we did, you can not use your room key to get money in the casino. I only learned that after putting most of my spending money on the card. When I went back to take off a couple hundred to use for the casino they gave me a very hard time. They told me that I could not get any of my money back until the end of the cruise. After about 15 minutes of arguing with a person who should not be in customer service, she finally called "someone" and they were going to make an exception for me. How nice. If you like Bingo like we do you will be disappointed. Games are expensive and the payouts very small. They have their jack pot that gets larger as the cruise goes on and normally someone will win it at the end of the cruise. Not this time. The $5000 jackpot was kept by cruiseline. The last game where you could win the $5000 had at least 300 people playing with a minimum of $49 to play and the largest winning game only paid $300. Public restrooms were often dirty with toilets out of order.

Cabin was as I would expect for an inside room. Small but clean. Had a flood first night from bathroom sink.
