Sail Date: Jul 2016
Cabin: Signature Superior Verandah Suite
Traveled with children

We chose this cruise for two reasons: Ports of call and price. The deal we got on this cruise for the 5 of us (Me and the wife, 3 kids (age 20,18,15) for 2 staterooms (Signature suite + large inside stateroom across from each other) was spectacular - so it was hard to say no.

Both the cabins were very nice - good size ,the bathrooms in particular large compared to most cruise ships we've been on.

Embarkation went smoothly - we had spent the night in Rome, and took the train to Civitavecchia, and a cab to the ship from there (we got lucky and got a van that fit all of us in one go - cost was 25 Euro) . We stood in line for maybe 10 minutes to get checked in, and another 10 minutes to complete the process (Taking pictures, scanning passports, etc) - we got on the ship around 1pm, and our staterooms were ready.

Cabin Review

Signature Superior Verandah Suite

Cabin SZ

The cabin was lovely. It had a large bathroom with a tub and a shower, plenty of room by the sink. The cabin had a king sized bed, and a couch that could be turned into a bed. We were 3 people in the room, and we fit nicely - it wasn't even really crowded when our other two kids joined us. The room had a massive TV with on-demand movies and TV shows, that was well appreciated for downtime (and since there was little to no other entertainment on the ship, very welcomed) - Plenty of storage space for luggage, hang-ups, folded clothes.. In general a fantastic cabin.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Rome is a lovely city. Civitavecchia is about an hour by train from the city.

Santorini

Santorini is an incredibly island. Note that the cable car line is long, and everything is overpriced, but well worth it to see the view and experience it. If you're in good shape walking up and down is recommended.

Crete (Heraklion)

Crete is an interesting place to experience. We just took a cab into town, enjoyed a drink, and walked back, as there was nothing there anyone really wanted to experience.

Rhodes

Rhodes was an amazing place to walk around. Had more in the family come with me I would have done a boat tour around it, but since it was just me I walked the old city and harbor, and it was simply stunning.

Dubrovnik

We took a tour into the countryside and tried some local wine and food - it was a lovely trip to give us a great view of the area. Amazing scenery.

Kotor

Kotor was a little gem. Anyone that gets a chance should visit at least once. And the sailing out of Kotor was amazing as well.

Venice

Venice is a great city anyone that gets a chance should visit. I'd recommend coming at a cooler time of the year than we did, but we enjoyed the city quite a lot even in the heat.
