I sailed on the Koningsdam’s July 17th Cruise of the Midnight Sun from Amsterdam to the Fjords of Norway for 14 nights. I have been fortunate to cruise extensively and have sailed Holland two times before on the Noordam in 2007 and the Maasdam in 2015.

The Koningsdam is a progression in design from Holland America’s large vessels. The Koningsdam’s interior is much more modern and contemporary from the line’s other ships. I preferred the more modernized interior of the Koningsdam over the other Holland America vessels.

The food on board was excellent. I ate mainly in the Lido, had dinners in many of the specialty restaurants and had a few meals in the main dining room. The quality of the food was great and the Lido restaurant had excellent choice, variety, and quality. The Tamarind Restaurant was excellent, it was my first time trying this venue and I will definitely return to this restaurant on another Holland America ship that has it.
