I needed a quick getaway for a weekend and took my Mom with me. She has had a hard time since my Dad passed away in December.

Parked at Park Port Canaveral (Radisson) and took their shuttle to the new RCI terminal (Terminal 1). Arrived about noon. Embarkation process was pretty fast and we were on the ship within 20 minutes. We decided to hit the Windjammer for a quick lunch. It wasn't terribly crowded yet. Then we decided to sit for a while on the Promenade deck and watch the longshoreman run around in the forklifts on the dock. They are pretty impressive (I am a certified forklift operator). About 1400 (2 pm) the cabins were "ready" and Mom and I decided to check ours out.

Cabin 2136 was ours (I used guarantee booking), second deck, starboard, aft. Crimeny! It was small. I have cruised many times, and this was the smallest cabin I have been in. Outside view (porthole) with 2 twin beds. The bathroom smelled musty and was very small! The smell was not bad enough to complain about. This ship is 24 years old. The room and bath were clean though. Never saw our cabin steward, but the room was kept up during the cruise.

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin H

Very small. Bathroom was musty, smelled like towels that have been left in the washing machine for a few days. Low water pressure.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Royal Carribeans Terminal 1 is new, getting through security and boarding is efficient. Took about 20 minutes until we were on the gangway.
