I choose this cruise because it fit the time frame we had available and New Orleans is an easy drive or Amtrak trip from my hometown. Overall, it was a great trip. The embarkation process was very smooth and we were onboard quickly. We had Faster To The Fun and our cabin was ready when we boarded and all luggage except one was already there. The missing one showed up later that afternoon. The ship, our balcony cabin, and the amenities available on the ship were fine. My only disappointment was the quality of the food in the main dining room. It has gone down quite a bit since my last Carnival cruise a few years ago. Most of the meats had little flavor and choices were just average. We enjoyed the outdoor pool areas, even though they were very crowded. The burgers at Guy's were fabulous and the best food we had on the cruise. We enjoyed it all.
This was a standard balcony cabin. We had 3 adults and 2 children in this cabin, using the queen size bed, upper bunk and a trundle (roll-away). We had 2 110 plugs and took a power strip tp accomodate our electronics and it worked fine. I requested a fridge due to having medications requiring it and it plugged into the 220 outlet so it didnt use the others. There was plenty of storage for the five of us to store our clothing and other items with 3 closets, 3 drawers and two double cabinets. luggage was stored under the bed and in bottom of closets. Balcony was small but we enjoyed it anyway.
We arrived via Amtrak and spent the night prior to embarkation in New Orleans. It is a fun city with lots to do.
