First let me state that there were 13 in our group. This was a family cruise to celebrate a 45th anniversary. We had a Junior Suite, #8134.
Embarkation: This did not go as planned. Usually we are onboard quickly and with little to no waiting. This day someone (this is second hand knowledge) evidently "forgot" they had ammunition in the backpack they were bringing onboard. Needless to say it unleashed a security frenzy that involved Miami Police/Canine, FBI, and Coast Guard. This resulted in us having to wait over an hour while they sorted it out. Needless to say others had to wait 2 hours in the hot humid areas outside the terminal. It was miserable I'm sure. I don't know what RCCL could have done, my only suggestion would have been to bring out water in some form to keep the ones out in the hot sun hydrated. I'm sure they will be working on how to handle something like this in the future.
Enchantment of the Seas is in need of being refurbished (again). I think she was refitted in 2006/2007. Overall it was very clean. She needs to have rust taken care of, there was a lot of rust on our balcony. The sliding door to the balcony was extremely hard to open/close.
Excellent
Love Key West!
Watch out for all the locals trying to get you to buy something or take a "tour" with them. Enjoy some good local food at the "Fish Fry" area. It is within walking distance of the pier. More than one good restaurant to choose from.
Miami is an interesting place. If you go in the day before the cruise you might try staying down in the Bayside Marketplace area. We like it down there. Lots of restaurants, shops and activities.
