We cruised on Anthem of the Seas July 23-28th. The overall expierince was that we had a great time as a family.
I find that the whole cruising industry has drastacically changed. There are so many fees such as charges for Internet, specialty dining, activities, etc. if you go into any cruise knowing that, then you won't be disappointed. This cruise in particular needs pre planning to make it the most enjoyable expierince it could be. If you don't plan you will be miserable.
Embarkation: We arrived at the port around 9:45 AM. Our assigned time was 12:30-1PM. I booked last minute due to a change of plans so I wanted to make sure we got onboard early enough to book our activities such as ifly and the Northstar, but I will get back to that further along in the review. We live about 1/2 hour away and drove our car. There wasn't any traffic coming in , we pulled up and they promptly took our luggage. It was $100 to park in their lot for 5 days tax included (about the same for UBER). We were then greeted by a gentlemen with an iPad who took our info and checked us in. It was very easy. However once inside, they sat us in rows and boarding took a long time. We got on the ship around 12 noon. We headed straight to the Royal Theater to sign up for the activities we couldn't sign up online for before we left. There were many available times to book IFly and the Northstar. I was a little upset that with the limited spots they have, people in front of us were able to book these expieriences multiple times. We then ate at the buffet, Windjammer cafe which was fine. It had a lot of choice but average food. We also ate there every morning.
Awesome and spacious. Check out you tube videos before you book.
