We chose to take this cruise because we really enjoyed our cruise last year on Freedom's sister ship Independence. We stayed in the same aft facing junior suite as we did on Independence. Our expectations were surpassed on a daily basis.
Port Canaveral was confusing. All of our documents gave numbers for the port locations but the signage going into the port was all in letters. We figured it out after a couple of u- turns. We arrived at 10:30 and were on the ship within 15 minutes. We elected to carry our own luggage off the ship and were on our way in the car by 7:30 am.
The ship was in good shape and we frequently saw crew cleaning, painting and doing general maintenance. The size and layout of the Freedom class is ideal for us- not too big, not too small and not too crowded. We rarely encountered a line for anything.
Roomy cabin with a real tub and shower as well as a walk in closet. Everything worked properly. We love the aft location which has a larger balcony and an incredible view. Some places list these cabins as having an obstructed view because part of the ship's structure goes around the back of the ship. We got used to that quickly and couldn't enjoy a balcony more.
Good shopping.
Smooth embarkation and debarkation. A little confusing getting to the right place but we figured it out. We pared at the port which allowed us to get on our way more quickly.
