We just returned from a wonderful cruise on the Holland America Line (HAL), MS Rotterdam. We had the most wonderful time and visited the most exciting places. The weather was as expected for the area we covered: Bergen, Shetland Islands, Iceland (3 stops), Scenic cruising in the Greenland fjords; Greenland (2 stops), St John's Newfoundland, Halifax, ending in Boston.
How many people have set foot on Greenland? Well, not too many, but HAL took us there. It was beautiful, amazing, with wonderful, friendly people, and untouched scenery.
The ship is very special with fine artwork and nice quiet areas. The food was wonderful although there was a little too much repetition in the dining room. The staff and crew were exceptional in friendliness, willingness to help, and in their ability to carry out their jobs. We always had a smile from everyone, everyday.
The cabin was as expected. There needs to be some work in the bathroom where there were rust spots in the corners outside of the tub where water had leaked over the years. Also, the toilet got stuffed 2 times and needed a plumber.
Linens are wonderful and the bed is fabulous.
