The Carnival Vista is brand new (May 2016) and it shows. It is clean and modern. Our family loved the boat and we happy to get a bonus day at sea courtesy‎ the Turkish coup. Here are some of the good points:

Cleanliness: They keep the ship spotless. Any reports that it was anything but clean I consider inaccurate or resolved. Our room was serviced twice daily and our cabin attendants were excellent. We had a few minor issues in our cabin and they were resolved immediately. Automated hand washing stations are everywhere food is served - kids loved them and so did we.

Food: Soft-serve ice cream is always available.

Cabin Review

Family Harbor Cove Balcony

Cabin FM

We loved our cabin and found it was adequately spaced for a family of four (two kids - 11 and 14). Our cabin was an adjoining cabin to 2408 (a suite) which appeared to be only slightly larger than our cabin.

The only issue we had with our 'cabin stay' is that doors do not close lightly so whenever we'd be in bed earlier than our neighbours the closing of doors be it cabin or balcony became slightly irritating (banging enough to wake you).

Port Reviews

Barcelona

hop on hop off

Florence (Livorno)

We rented a car and drove to Lucca (medieval town) and stopped at Pisa on our way back. Hertz attendant inputted all info for GPS and explained in broken English what we needed to know. Lucca was very nice - wish we'd rented the bikes so we could see more of the town. Pisa doesn't have much to see but was very nice to visit. Glad we did it on our own at our own pace

Crete (Heraklion)

opted to go to the beach

Athens (Piraeus)

bought tickets once at Acropolis - worth the visit

Athens (Piraeus)

Hop on Hop off - visited after the cruise when we stayed for a few days

Rhodes

no need - you can walk into Rhodes from the cruise port and there's a stretch of beach right there at your disposal. Loved walking around Rhodes, wish we'd left the ship earlier in the day to visit it.
