We chose this cruise because two couples in our party had never cruised before. We were able to keep the expenses lower without having to add air. Our embarkation experiences went as we expected and our sail away was entertaining. Having sailed before on Norwegian Majesty and several times on Celebrity Cruises, I was disappointed with many of the services offered by Norwegian Dawn.
The ratio of staff to passengers was very disappointing. Everyone in our party had purchased a beverage package. We should of saved our dollars. It was near impossible to get someone to take our drink orders on deck by the pool. The wait at the outside bar was ridiculously long. It was easier to get a hot dog or an ice cream.
The Venetian Dining room was way too crowded for the size of the room. There was no room to safely take a seat or leave the table we were assigned to sit. One of the couples in our party experienced flooding issues in their shower/bathroom. They ended up having to take their showers in our shower. They notified their room steward each day without success. Finally, they went to Customer Service to again report this problem of flooding. They were rudely told that this issue was their fault and they did not adequately state the nature of their problem to their Housekeeping. This is unacceptable of Norwegian in my opinion.
Our cabin was acceptable. Our cruise was the first sailing after being upgraded and overhauled in dry dock
