This was a very nice cruise with excellent staff. The stateroom was fine. The bathroom had a tub with a shower in addition to the typical shoe box size shower. So, that was very good. The food was very good. The best surprise was for dinner, at the buffet (I usually hate buffet dinners), there was a grill section that offered lamb chops, lobster tail, shrimp, steak and other fish. This was better than the food at the Grand Dining Room and most of the specialty restaurants. At the grill, you simply told them how much you wanted of what and a few minutes later, there is was. For me, that was great because it did away with appetizers and salads, which for the most part are filler.
As for the specialty restaurants, Red Ginger (Japanese) was superb from start to finish. This was most surprising for us as we did not expect too much at this restaurant. To me, this restaurant was a sleeper surprise. The Polo Grill (steak house) was OK, nothing special. The filet mignon was a bit dry. Tuscano (Italian) was very good. We did not try Jacques (French).
The evening entertainment was not good. Twice, there was the same magician and twice the same female singer and a couple of nights the same violinist. Big yawns here. Nothing up tempo in terms of music or comedians.
