We actually did a back 2 back cruise with 9 days Baltic area and then 14 days Norway's North Cape. It was our first back to back and by far, our longest cruise. We chose NCL and the Star in particular because we had recently sailed on this ship (Panama Canal) and knew it was going to be refurbished. That was our first NCL experience and we were very satisfied. We knew the ship was going to be sailing the Baltic area, so we booked it and ended up doing the North Cape too. Just my husband and I sailed and we were satisfied with all accommodations and would definitely sail with them again.
We flew to Copenhagen ahead of time and had 3 great days touring the city on our own. On embarkation day we fully expected to wait in line for an hour or more. But much to our delight we were out of the cab, through customs and on the ship in 30 minutes. It was amazing. We enjoyed lunch while waiting for the cabins to open and our luggage to be delivered. We had an ocean view cabin mid ship on deck 5 and were pleased. The room seemed bigger than some cabins we shared and we were happy with it's size and accommodations.
The entertainment nightly was wonderful, and we never missed a show. Some were repeats since we were back to back, but we enjoyed the shows the second time as much as the first. The food in the main dining rooms was delicious and there was always a good selection to choose from. Of course the buffet restaurant on the 12th floor was wonderful, and we had breakfast and lunch there often. There were also two other free restaurants, one Asian and the other an Irish Pub. We are there often for a change, and always enjoyed. We did not do any of the specialty restaurants this cruise. They were expensive and not really necessary with all the other choices.
great cabin......loved the big window. Made the room seem larger.
