Just got off the NCL Gem two days ago and overall we had a wonderful time. We chose the two bedroom family suite (SC) because we have three small children and wanted to ensure that we had plenty of room.
Our trip stopped at Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay, and Nassau Bahamas.
The ship itself was clean, easy to navigate, and never felt crowded. For adults this ship has everything you would expect and really need to have a great relaxing time.
This cabin was perfect for our family. Never felt crowded and gave my wife and I, and three kids (4/6/8) enough space. The smaller room was bigger than I thought and we left the beds "open" the entire trip. The master bathroom shower was fantastic especially with the six small shower heads that worked with the large shower head all at the same time....wow!!
Negatives about this room....each night we heard loud swishing noises near the smaller bedroom...I never figured out where the noise was coming from other than when they drain the pools at night I think the plumbing was above our cabin...I could also hear feet running at night above our room...Our room was directly below the game room and library so I am not sure how we could hear "feet" running at night, but we did....
The pre-cruise concierge provided us with false information regarding DVD players in the room. We were told that there were two DVD players in the room and after arriving with our collection of the kids favorite movies we found out that all the DVD players had been removed from the ship.....this was not good. We were then forced to watch one of four kids movies from the ships in house system...
The location of this cabin was perfect. The gym, pool, and bars were very easy to get to
Cabana rental... OMG! Worth every penny!!!
