Northbound Voyage of the Glaciers cruise then 2 days Denali, 2 days Mckinley, and back to Anchorage. Uneventful boarding process. We walked on board just a few minutes after noon and were pleasantly surprised to find that the cabins were already available, so we dropped off our carry-ons before heading to lunch in the MDR. Check Princess Patter [in your cabin] to see which dining room is serving lunch. Lunch in the MDR was a much more relaxed way to start the cruise than going to the Horizon buffet line.
We spent the early part of the afternoon exploring the ship and getting our bearings from our room to the main public areas of the ship.
Definitely plan to go to all the talks by naturalist Mark Harris. There are several different ones throughout the cruise. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience. He also does live narrations later in the cruise for the visits to Glacier Bay and College Fjord.
Cabin was adequate for our needs. Ice was brought to us daily, even without having to request it. Cabin attendants were very friendly.
Great city to walk around in. Plenty to see when arriving a day early for your cruise.
A great city to end our vacation in. We stayed an extra day and had plenty to see -- Anchorage Museum, Tony Knowles trail, Earthquake Park. Enjoyed the Captain Cook hotel.
