My mother and I decided to explore the Caribbean - neither of us had been on a cruise, so we thought we would go for it! We spent a couple of days in San Juan prior to boarding the ship, and had a wonderful time hanging out on the beach and our hotel's pools. We got to our ship around noon on the 16th and, with the help of our lovely cab driver, had an easy time getting our bags checked.

We were prepared for a tiny room but were very pleasantly surprised with the size of our cabin. We had a balcony and that made a huge difference! We met our valet and all week he made us feel very pampered. He tidied our room several times a day, and we often returned to little treats. Our dining room waitstaff were incredibly sweet - very accommodating and helpful. They remembered our names after the first night and brought us our preferred beverages as we were being seated. Small details, perhaps - but they definitely added to the overall experience.

We took advantage of several shows (pretty cheesy but entertaining), a movie in the screening room, even a Ladies Night with male dancers. We had a blast! We loved hanging in the Solarium - the pool, the whirlpool, the lounge chairs... very relaxing, except for times when it was too crowded. But even then, we just popped upstairs to the upper deck, where the lounge chairs are plentiful and there is lots of shade.

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Very roomy - plenty of space in the closet, drawers, etc... and room under the beds for suitcases. The balcony makes the smallish space feel enormous!

Port Reviews

San Juan

Loved getting to see a little bit of this wonderful city. Incredibly nice people! Beautiful beaches! Great food! I don't know why more mainlanders aren't coming here -- they need to! I'll be back for sure.
