This was our very first cruise, and I had always wanted to visit Budapest, the birthplace of both sets of my grandparents. Everything about the cruise was wonderful- delicious food, informative tours, excellent staff, comfortable amenities, easy connections and transfers, and enjoyable entertainment! We arrived early in Budapest to extend our stay in the city before checking in to the ship, all part of our Viking experience. We stayed at the Budapest Marriott which was also excellent in every way- very convenient for walking and exploring the city, delicious breakfasts, and very comfortable accommodations. By the second day on the boat, we agreed we will be doing this type of cruise again. Since our return we booked another Viking river cruise for later next year! The experience was perfect for us- small number of passengers, personalized service, culturally oriented, and flexibility to go off and do what we like to do like exploring by bicycle, hiking, etc. We are very active 60+ year olds and we were as busy as we wanted to be. The Viking River Cruises would suit all ages. We are very excited for our next cruise!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

Cabin F

Our stateroom was perfect for us- plenty of storage space, comfortable bed, and efficient bathroom/shower. We basically only slept and showered so the space was adequate. Cleaning services were excellent.

Port Reviews

Bratislava

We took the walking tour of the city- excellent guide; this gave us an introduction to the city and after lunch on the boat we walked back into the city on our own.

Durnstein (Krems)

We hiked up to the ruins of Richard the Lionheart's Castle. It was a good workout and the view was fabulous!
