Coming off a number of cruises aboard Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas we were deeply disappointed with the Anthem. So much that we loved on the Oasis Class was missing and the new features of this ship were so underwhelming that I wouldn't do them again.

My first big issue with this ship is that everything seems to close so early... We went out after 7pm and all the pools were closed except for one... and that pool was gross with lots of big bunches of hair, straws and napkins floating in it. We then decided to go in one of the hot tubs and all were closed except for the one in Solarium. We didn't want to be inside in the hot tub we wanted to be outside. The air in the Solarium was not moving and it didn't feel good in there.

Later on after that we decided to go to the Windjammer and it was CLOSED. It wasn't that late. My wife wanted to go get some ice cream (frozen yogurt) and found that closes at 5:30. On Carnival Ships you can get ice cream 24/7.

Port Reviews

King's Wharf

Went to a beach just down the road from the ship. Swam out to some rocks and sat at them and had loads of fish swimming around us, it was like snorkeling without needing snorkels.

San Juan

People begging for money everywhere... most stores not open until 10 am... and the ship was leaving at 12:30 PM so couldn't really do much. Very disappointing.

Labadee

Dont go anywhere near the straw markets... very pushy people trying to get you to buy crap and they don't take no for an answer.

Make sure to wear water shoes if you go to the beach.

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

This wasn't really a port... just where we left from.
