This was my husbands 1st cruise and my 3rd (first with Royal). We had an amazing time! The poolside band, Caribbean Roots, were very entertaining and really made the deck experience fun! Young and old were on the deck dancing and having a great time! The pool was small, but kids were still enjoying it as well as adults. I had no problem dipping in to cool off- swimming laps would not be possible, but who wants to do that anyway;) I would also rinse in the poolside shower to cool off if I got to hot sitting in the sun- very refreshing! There are some great spots to sit and watch the water all around deck 6. The food was great, we ate in the MDR every morning, enjoying a free mimosa on sea days. We would have Windjammer for lunch, always finding something we enjoyed and ate in the MDR for the late seating dinner. The food was delicious and the service was excellent!! The cabin was nice enough (8168), we were really only in there for sleeping or napping. The shower was tiny, but not the end of the world for us. The daytime games, evening shows and late night dancing were all good. Service throughout the ship was top notch. We had absolutely no complaints. I will say, if I were to take my kids on a cruise I would pick a larger ship with more kid specific activities and things for them to do, however, the kids we saw were all having a great time! My kids have been on Disney cruises only and I think they would want more activities than this boat offered (water slide, put-put etc.).
In Cayman we took a taxi to Royal Palms. We got beach chairs and sat at the beach all day. The water is beautiful and I did not want to leave! The island is easy to get around and very safe.
In Key West we went to the Butterfly conservatory. It was beautiful and well worth it to go! Butterflies will even land on you:) Then we ate at Blue Heaven, amazing meal!! It was a very hot day so back to the boat to cool off we went after lunch.
Beautiful island! We went to Royal Palms and it was excellent.
Great time but very hot!! Love the Butterfly Conservatory and Blue Heaven restaurant!
We walked around a bit- beautiful city!
