We stayed the night before at the Drury Inn, downtown New Orleans. They have a great "Cruise deal" $99 per night including Happy Hour in the evening and a very nice breakfast in the morning. They also allow you to park your car the entire time of your cruise. It was nice, the furnishings are somewhat outdated, but our room was very clean and the breakfast was enjoyed by all. I would recommend this hotel to anyone cruising from New Orleans.
Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived at 11:30 and were having lunch by the pool by noon. Our cabin was neat, clean and our cabin stewart was always around. He kept our room beautiful and seemed to know what we needed before we asked. Our Dining Room requests were a total different matter. It was not Carnival's fault, our TA gave our group all different, tables, times and even different dining rooms! DO NOT USE CROWN'S ADVENTURES AT SEA! By the second night Carnival fixed my TA's mistake and we were all having dinner together. The Chocolate Melting Cake was a favorite by all. The kids loved the banana splits. My favorites were the Pumpkin and the Crab Cakes. Mmmmm.
The cruise was wonderful. The kids loved Camp Carnival and the new Water Works. The four year old was a little disappointed because she was not tall enough for the slides, but she enjoyed the pool. Everyone had a wonderful time and we are looking forward to trying the Victory next year.
