We first chose Emerald because River cruises rated them as best value for the money.
We did the Rhine -Main River cruise from Amsterdam to Nuremberg.
A story before the cruise took place. We were booked on June 5th cruise on Emerald Belle. Told on Feb 1 that ship had burned during construction. Spoke with manager in Boston, MA office and told him we were already booked on non-refundable flights for June 4 to june 17. Cruise was scheduled for June 5-12. He called me back 24 hrs. later and told me they could get us on Emerald Star leaving Amsterdam two days later. They upgraded our room onboard and also paid for our two nights at a B & B in Amsterdam.
Cabin Review
Great room. Bathroom big enough. Great storage and plenty of hanging space in closet.
Great TV and selections -- loved ability to see map location of where we were and also the Bow camera on TV stations !
Loved the window and ability to lower it half way to get fresh breeze and smell the water.
Room cleaning service was great and so was the turn-down service at night which provided you chocolates and next day's itinerary.
Only recommended improvement were mattresses. We had two singles put together on a queen bed frame and the mattresses kept separating.
