Decided to splash out and pamper ourselves on this cruise by booking a Grand Suite.

The booking in service at Corfu was a really long queue, the priority check in we were promised in the price meant that we queued as normal and when we got to the head of the queue we were showed to a priority booking booth? The personal touch of a steward showing you to your suite didn't happen, we made our own way. When we got to the Cabin the door key wouldn't work and we had to wait until somebody came to put a new lock on the door, so that we could get in, we found out later that he had put the lock on upside down, so had to return at a later date to fix this again. Unfortunately the Grand suite wasn't so Grand. We had a welcome bottle of Champagne, but no indication that this was complimentary, looking at some of the mini bar charges we decided not to risk this and left it. The suite was was dated, the whirlpool bath was really basic, the balcony didn't have a table and chairs, only sunbeds at first, we had to ask to get these. The TV controls wouldn't work properly and we only had a Sky News channel available. The cabin Steward was really friendly and the room was kept tidy twice a day. However two things did worry me to the general cleanliness. Late in the Holiday i noticed that the underside of the bath mat was covered in fungus, i left it upside down in the bath so that the steward could see the state it was in, but it was never cleaned. A pear was also left to rot in the bowl until we noticed it and disposed of it.

There is no free wifi available on the ship and the charges are well overpriced. I would have thought with the money we paid for the "Grand suite", we would have got free wifi access.
