We flew into Miami airport on Saturday before the cruise. Airport was fine no issues. The Taxi ride was around $26 with tip to our hotel. We left for Miami a day early stayed at Holiday Inn Port of Miami. Our room overlooked the Port. It was a nice room but nothing fancy. Perfect for one night. The hotel is located in a great area across from Bayside market place. We took a cab to South Beach (40 round trip with tip) it was beautiful.
On Sunday we took a cab to the port ($10) arrived around 12:00 and breezed through the lines and was on the ship by 12:30. Much better then Fort Lauderdale. The room was ready around 1:30. We were upgrade from an aft cabin to a 9A aft last minute it was a $200 upgrade. The couple that was booked in the room had an emergency and cancelled. It was worth the money. The balcony is the size of 6 or 7 balconies. The room was setup a little differently then our aft cabin on the last cruise. Probably the same size but had 2 big windows and the bath was next to the bed not up front. The layout was nice. Our kids were in the cabin across the hall (interior). It worked out great. You do feel movement in the back of the ship especially on rough waters. But it didn't bother us.
The kids had a great time. They met a ton of kids there age. They had some great activities but spent most of the time just hanging out with friends.
