We sailed on the June 30th sailing of the Anthem of the Seas. It was a nine day cruise to Bermuda and the Eastern Caribbean. Overall -- We enjoyed the cruise but there are opportunities to improve. We would rate the cruise overall as a 3.5. The ship did feel more congested and crowded than other RCCL ships. There were also lines for many things including bumper cars, trapeze, skating, etc.

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and family features/activities of the ship. The check-in was relatively easy as we arrived later than most. The security and some RCCL people at check-in were cranky and seemed to be more operations rather than customer focused. They were more focused on catching you at something rather than welcoming. I think they can still be effective in their responsibilities while customer focused.

The Anthem is beautifully decorated and designed. This carried through to our cabin. We had a family junior suite on deck 10. It was a good size with 1 1/2 bath. There was plenty of storage and room to spread-out. Laura who was our cabin attendant did a very nice job. Overall -- we found the crew to be helpful, engaging and thorough. The only exception was around the pool but more on that later. We also really appreciated the lack of noise between cabins. It was quiet with the exception of ship noise -- some odd creaks and clicks. The drawers were also a nice touch as they have the self closing feature which prevents them from slamming.
