Preface: I cruise because I like to enjoy the amenities on the boat. When everyone disembarks to drink their faces off at Senor Frogs, I like having quiet shaded loungers to myself. I'm a firm believer that a cruise is what you choose to make it. Some folks would be distressed by the lido buffet lines, or the sometimes unclear instructions on how to disembark while in port. But for me, even on this sold-out vessel during a holiday week, I was always able to find a space - even on the sea day - to truly enjoy my much treasured time off from work. (Pro tip: There's no Serenity Deck on the Conquest, but Deck 10 toward the aft of the ship has a quiet stretch of loungers and other seating that are shaded for much of the day.)

I loved the decor in the ship! Each Carnival vessel has a unique vibe and personality. The Conquest is inspired by French Impressionists, with lots of rich wood, glass flowers and chandeliers. The ship was completely sold out on my sailing, but even with 3000+ passengers on board, I never had trouble finding a peaceful place to read my book or otherwise chill out. I took advantage of the self-serve laundry, which was easy to use (and took the Sail & Sign card!). There seemed to be fewer shops than other (even smaller) Carnival ships I've been on, but there was plenty to keep you occupied. Nice large casino - The Mighty Incan was my favorite penny slot! (I came out $10 ahead at the end of the week, haha.)

I had an interior stateroom, right off the lido deck. (I did the cheaper fare where you don't get to select your own room.) I was worried about noise, but it was remarkably quiet, even during the Independence Day Deck Party. Interestingly enough, I got more noise from the atrium lobby when the singers were there. The female singer's voice, in particular, was at a frequency that penetrated most walls. (Note: this isn't a diss. She was awesome!) Mine was an accessible room, even though I have no disability. The accommodations were more than adequate. Only two complaints: 1) There is only one electrical outlet (with two ports) in the room, and one of them is being used to power the fridge! 2) The air is a little stagnant, so I'd probably bring a small fan next time.
