Our first cruise ever! It was a very enjoyable river cruise. The ship is modern and comfortable. The crew was exceptional-- cheerful, friendly and extremely helpful. We particularly enjoyed our daily excursions, which were included. We also signed up for a couple of optional excursions and they were well worth the reasonable additional cost.

The local guides were excellent without exception. Each person shared insights, history and local culture that we would never have known if we were traveling by ourselves! They all had interesting personalities and a sense of humor about what we were seeing or about French culture in general.

The food on board was good to excellent. There is open seating at dinner so we didn't have to sit at the same table every day. Dinner was always well presented and the chef's recommendations were usually excellent. The "house" wines served with dinners were generally just "ok". We are from California so we value good wines.

A little tight in the bathroom. But we spent so little time in our cabin that it really didn't matter. We had the first cabin next to the library, only a few steps to get coffee in the morning and close to dinning areas etc.
