We cruised as 4 couples (aged 51-62), and chose the Oasis because we wanted to "experience" it. We had all cruised before, but this ship is twice the size of anything else we had been on. We were all very pleased with the cruise, the ship, the service, the ports, and the programs & shows the Oasis offered.

For dinner, we chose early seating (6 PM) because we had read that My Time Dining led to waiting. But we found another benefit besides being able to walk right up to our table at 6 - having the same wait staff (head waiter, assistant, and drink steward) is exactly what we enjoy about cruise dinners in the first place. They were awesome: making recommendations, remembering our preferences, and being attentive and congenial - Loved loved loved them. We were very pleased with the food 90% of the time, and if one of us thought something was a little off, the staff would bring an alternative choice immediately.

Food service outside the main dining rooms was also very attentive and friendly. The Windjammer (buffet) was always clean and fresh, and the Park Cafe, the Dog House, Ben & Jerry's, Promenade Cafe, Sorrentos, the Solarium Bistro, and Chops all delivered to expectations and in some cases beyond. Quibble - there were times that the buffets at Windjammer (both sides) and Solarium were shut down totally and simultaneously. These were scheduled, but other ships we have been on took advantage of alternating sides of the buffet to execute changeovers. Not sure why RCCL decided to close them down. But none of us starved... The bartenders were great and attentive, too.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D8

This cabin was spacious for 2, and the balcony size was standard-small, but comfortable. Our room steward was quick and effective and friendly.
