I've never felt the need to write a review more so than about my most recent trip on the Norwegian Breakaway from NYC to Bermuda in July of 2016. If this is your first time on this ship and you've read some of the reviews on here about this boat, then like me, you're probably a bit skeptical/worried. Let me tell you that my wife and I, along with my sister and her boyfriend absolutely loved our time on the Breakaway and our experience with NCL. My wife has been on numerous cruises (this was my 2nd and my sister and bf's first) and we all had the time of our lives.
The boat is gorgeous and extremely clean. The food was AMAZING. We did not have one poor meal the whole time on board. We had the specialty dining package and ate at The Brazilian Steakhouse (Excellent), Cagney's Steakhouse (Excellent), and La Cucina (Italian Restaurant - good but least favorite of specialty options we tried). We also ate in the Manhattan Room and at Savor and found both meals to be enjoyable. Lastly, on our last day my wife and I had Sushi at Wasabi and really enjoyed our meal too.
The shows and entertainment on board were also of great quality and highly enjoyable. Our favorite show was the Jungle Dreams Cirque de Soleil show, a must see! (dinner was very good here too - we used this as our 4th Specialty Dining option and only had to pay $11 more a person). Rock of ages was also great!. I don't understand why people bash this - it was highly entertaining, fun, well done. Was it crude and a bit dirty, of course! It's about rock and roll in the 80', what do you expect! Definitely not for kids but unless you're really straight laced you'll love it. We also saw Burn the Floor and though this was really well done too! The dancers were extremely skilled and talented! (keep in mind that we live in the NYC area - we know what good entertainment is like!).
Spacious!
Took us an hour to get on, an hour to get off -
