This was my first cruise, so I don't really have a basis of comparison, but I enjoyed it enough to be planning my next cruise. The atmosphere was lovely. I did not feel the need to dress up everyday but people weren't slumming around in sweats either. Our cabin attendant was way more attentive then you'll ever get on land but we only got a towel animal once so I feel a little cheated. The activities on board were decent but I'm from Orlando so I'm used to a little better quality in the shows. I hated that every show was opened by the cruise director who liked to make jokes about passengers eating too much, getting fat and stealing towels. He was attempting to be funny, I found it rude. There was live music everywhere it seemed. At the pool, in the open space at the middle of the ship, in bars and in the dining room. It ranged from salsa to piano solo and it was virtually inescapable.

One of our waiters in the main dining room was beyond awesome. We sat at table 171 which sat just the two of us. I shared a table at breakfast and did not care for the experience but I appreciated a table for two greatly. We did My Time Dining which suited us better than a set time each day but it was still very structured and you could only make reservations at specific times. If you don't make reservations you won't get a table by yourself and the waiter does not seem to care as much about you. The food was OK and I bet other people thought it was great. I am a super-picky eater and they were fairly good about removing an offending ingredient or sauce if possible but there were a large number of dishes that I just wouldn't touch. Don't have the steak. The steak is terrible. I eat mine well-done and my husband eats his rare but they were equally awful. Something is wrong with the texture maybe it was freezer burn or something.

The bars are fantastic but you have to walk pretty far if you want a drink before 2. Only a few places are open for drinks. If you want soda from a machine there are only 2 on the ship. One near the buffet and one on the 6 floor. This made using the premium beverage packages a little harder to use.

Cabin Review

Large Inside Stateroom

Cabin L

Our room was what I expected out of an interior cabin and I liked it. I don't know exactly where the "large" came in when describing this room as you couldn't walk along side of the bed when you had them pushed together because of the placement of the vanity. I loved how dark it was (I love sleeping in) in the morning. You could control the temp. in the room. It had lots of storage: 2 bedside tables with 2 drawers each, a vanity with 2 cabinets about 6 inches wide and as long as the mirror. 3 dresser sized drawers and 3 smaller drawers flanking the chair under the vanity. a medicine cabinet in the bathroom and the closet was split in half one side for long items and the other half has 2 poles for shorter items. The chairs are super small and more in the way than anything else. One of the chairs was nearly child sized and neither of us could sit in it because of the arms.

There are 4 outlets in the room all roughly in the same place under the mirror of the vanity. Two of the are US plugs and 2 European. You are not allowed to bring extension cords or power strips so if you need more than 2 plugs i suggest you buy adapters to change on to the other.

Miami

We planned to arrive in Miami the day before just in case of any delay and we are glad we did because we forgot my husbands passport and had to turn around after 2 hours on the road. We stayed in the Hilton in Downtown Miami, which had lovely rooms but a crappy neighborhood and no good food nearby.
